Boeing Co was originally incorporated in the State of Washington in 1916 and reincorporated in Delaware in 1934. It is engaged in the design, development, manufacture, sale and support of commercial jetliners, military aircraft, satellites, missile defense, human space flight and launch systems and services. It is a manufacturer of 100+ seat airplanes for the international commercial airline industry and a defense contractor in the U.S. It operates in five segments namely Commercial Airplanes; Boeing Military Aircraft, Network and Space Systems, Global Services and Support and Boeing Capital Corporation. The Commercial Airplanes segment develops, produces and markets commercial jet aircraft and provides related support services to the commercial airline industry internationally. It is a producer of commercial aircraft and offer a family of commercial jetliners designed to meet a broad spectrum of passenger and cargo requirements of domestic and non-U.S. airlines. The Company's BDS operations involves research, development, production, modification and support of the products and related systems such as global strike systems, including fighters, bombers, combat rotorcraft systems, weapons and unmanned systems; global mobility systems, including transport and tanker aircraft, rotorcraft transport and tilt-rotor systems; airborne surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft, including command and control, battle management and airborne anti-submarine aircraft; network and tactical systems. Military Aircraft Segment is engaged in the research, development, production, and modification of manned and unmanned military weapons systems for the global strike, mobility and surveillance and engagement markets as well as related services. Included in this segment are the C-17 Globemaster III, P-8A Poseidon and India P-8I, Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C), and KC-46A Tanker. Boeing Network & Space Systems Segment is engaged in the research, development, production, and modification of products and services to assist its customers in transforming their operations through network integration, information, intelligence and surveillance systems, communications, architectures and space exploration. Global Services & Support Segment is engaged in the operations, maintenance, training, upgrades and logistics support functions for military platforms and operations. Included in this segment are the following activities: Integrated Logistics on platforms including; Maintenance, Modifications and Upgrades on platforms; Training Systems and Services on platforms including; and Defense and Government Services include the UK Future Logistics Information Services program. Boeing Capital Corporation Segment facilitates, arranges, structures and provides selective financing solutions for its Commercial Airplanes customers. Its competitors include Lockheed Martin Corporation, Northrop Grumman Corporation, Raytheon Company and General Dynamics Corporation
