Bebe Stores Inc, is incorporated in the state of California. The Company designs, develops and produces a distinctive line of contemporary women's apparel and accessories under the bebe, BEBE SPORT, bbsp and 2b bebe brand names. It operates stores in the United States, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Japan and Canada. In addition it has an on-line store at www.bebe.com that ships to customers in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Protectorates and internationally via its third party provider, International Checkout. It also has an international stores operated by licensees in South East Asia, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Russia, Mexico and Turkey. The Company's distinctive product offering includes a full range of separates, tops, sweaters, dresses, active wear and accessories in the following lifestyle categories: career, evening, casual, and active. It also designs and develops the majority of its merchandise in-house, which is manufactured to its specifications. The Company has developed its advertising and direct marketing initiatives to elevate brand awareness, increase customer acquisition and retention and support key growth strategies. As of September 2011, its store operations are organized into four regions and 30 districts. The Company is subject to periodic audits by the Internal Revenue Service and other foreign, state and local taxing authorities.
