Blueknight Energy Partners LP was formed as a Delaware limited partnership in 2007 to own, operate and develop diversified portfolio of complementary midstream energy assets. The Company through its subsidiaries provides integrated storage, terminalling, gathering and transportation services for Companies engaged in the production, distribution and marketing of crude oil and liquid asphalt cement. The Company manages its operations through four operating segments; crude oil terminalling and storage services, crude oil pipeline services, crude oil trucking and producer field services, and asphalt services. The Company's crude oil industry provides crude oil transportation, gathering, storage and terminalling services to producers, marketers and refiners of crude oil products. Its crude oil operations are located in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas, where there are extensive crude oil production operations in place. The Company's asphalt industry provides liquid asphalt cement's adhesive and waterproofing properties which are used for building structures, waterproofing ships, mummification and numerous other applications. The Company's crude oil pipeline services own and operate a crude oil gathering and transportation system in the Mid-Continent region of the United States with a combined length of approximately 500 miles and a 200 mile tariff-regulated crude oil gathering and transportation pipeline in the Longview, Texas area. In addition, it also owns and operates the Eagle North system in the Mid-Continent region of the United States with a length of approximately 200 miles. Its crude oil trucking and producer field services provide two types of trucking services: crude oil trucking and producer field services. The Company's crude oil gathering and transportation services competitors include Enterprise Products Partners L.P., Plains All American Pipeline, L.P., Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P., Sunoco Logistics Partners L.P. and Rose Rock Midstream Partners, L.P., among others. With respect to crude oil storage and terminalling services, the competitors include Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P., Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P., Plains All American Pipeline, L.P. and Rose Rock Midstream Partners, L.P., among others.
