Blackbaud Inc provides cloud-based and on-premise software solutions and related services that address the fundraising needs and operational challenges faced by nonprofit organizations.

Blackbaud Inc is a Delaware corporation incorporated in 1981. The Company is engaged in providing software and services for the philanthropic community. It offers cloud-based and on-premises solutions, as well as a resource network that empowers and connects organizations of all sizes. Its portfolio of software and services support nonprofit fundraising and relationship management, digital marketing, advocacy, accounting, payments and analytics, as well as grant management, corporate social responsibility, and education. The Company operates in segments including General Markets Business Unit (GMBU) engaged in marketing, sales, delivery and support to all emerging and mid-sized prospects and customers in North America; Enterprise Customer Business Unit (ECBU) engaged in marketing, sales, delivery and support to large and/or strategic prospects and customers in North America; and International Business Unit (IBU) engaged in marketing, sales, delivery and support to all prospects and customers outside of North America. It offers philanthropic community a complete system to meet constituent relationship management ("CRM") system and online engagement platforms, backed by its analytic services. Its customers use its products and services to help increase donations, reduce fundraising costs, build online communities and improve communications with constituents, manage their finances and optimize operations. The Company offers its products mainly on a perpetual license basis. It also offers a suite of analytical tools and related services that enable non-profit organizations to extract aggregate and analyze vast quantities of data to make operational decisions. In addition, it helps increase the returns on their technology investments by providing a broad range of consulting, training and professional services, maintenance and technical support as well as payment processing services. The majority of its software and related services are sold through direct sales forces. The Company has approximately 35,000 active customers including nonprofits, K-12 private and higher education institutions, healthcare organizations, foundations and other charitable giving entities, and corporations. The Company competes with several software developers that provide specialized products, such as on-demand software specifically designed for nonprofit use. In addition, it compete with custom-developed solutions created either internally by nonprofit organizations or outside by custom service providers. Its products such as Blackbaud CRM are built on the Microsoft.Net framework platform. These products are web-delivered applications utilizing a Service Oriented Architecture built on Internet standards and protocols such as HTTP, XML and SOAP. The Company has approximately 35,000 active customers including nonprofits, K-12 private and higher education institutions, healthcare organizations, foundations and other charitable giving entities, and corporations
