Ball Corporation was organized in 1880 and incorporated in the state of Indiana in 1922. The Company is a supplier of metal and plastic packaging to the beverage, food and household products industries. The Company reports four reportable segments: metal beverage packaging, Americas and Asia; metal beverage packaging, Europe; metal food and household products packaging, Americas; and aerospace and technologies. Its packaging products are produced for a variety of end uses and are manufactured in plants around the world. The Company also provides aerospace and other technologies and services to governmental and commercial customers within its aerospace and technologies segment. Its packaging businesses were responsible for 90 percent of its net sales, with the remaining 10 percent contributed by its aerospace business. Its largest product lines are aluminum and steel beverage containers. It also produce steel food containers and steel and aluminum aerosol containers for beverages, food, personal care and household products, as well as steel paint cans, decorative steel tins and aluminum slugs. The Company sells its packaging products mainly to major beverage, food, personal care and household products companies with which it has developed long-term customer relationships. It sells a majority of its packaging products to relatively few major companies in North America, Europe, the People's Republic of China (PRC), Brazil and Argentina, as do its equity joint ventures in the U.S. and Vietnam. Its customers include: Anheuser-Busch InBev n.v./s.a., Heineken N.V., MillerCoors LLC, PepsiCo Inc. and its affiliated bottlers, SABMiller plc, The Coca-Cola Company and its affiliated bottlers, and Unilever N.V. The Company's aerospace business is of designing, development and manufacturing of innovative aerospace systems for civil, commercial and national security aerospace markets. It produces spacecraft, instruments and sensors, radio frequency systems and components, data exploitation solutions and a variety of advanced aerospace technologies and products that enable deep space missions. The Company and its customers and suppliers are subject to various federal, state and provincial laws and regulations.
