BSB Bancorp Inc was was incorporated in June, 2011 to become the holding company of Belmont Savings in connection with the Bank's conversion from the mutual holding company to stock holding company form of organization. It is engaged principally in the business of attracting deposits from the general public and investing those deposits in residential and commercial real estate loans, consumer loans, including indirect auto loans, commercial loans and construction loans, as well as investment securities. It offers a variety of deposit accounts, including passbook and statement savings accounts, certificates of deposit, money market accounts, commercial and regular checking accounts and IRAs. It conducts its operations from its five full-service branch offices located in Belmont, Watertown and Waltham, Massachusetts. The Company's primary lending market includes Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk and Suffolk Counties, Massachusetts. The Company competes with commercial banks, credit unions, savings institutions, mortgage brokerage firms, finance companies, mutual funds, insurance companies and investment banking firms. BSB Bancorp Inc is subject to regulation, supervision, and examination by the Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Banks.
