China Automotive Systems Inc is a holding company. The Company through its subsidiary is engaged in manufacturing and sale of automotive systems and components.

China Automotive Systems Inc was incorporated in the State of Delaware on June 29, 1999 under the name of Visions-In-Glass, Inc. It is a holding company. The Company through its subsidiaries is engaged in manufacturing and sale of automotive systems and components. The Company has 12 product sectors, five of its sectors are engaged in the production and sales of power steering (Henglong, Jiulong, Shenyang, Wuhu and Hubei Henglong), and one holding company (Genesis); and other seven sectors are engaged in the production and sale of sensor modular (USAI), column (Jielong), provision of after sales and R&D services (HLUSA), production and sale of power steering (Chongqing Henglong), trade (Brazil Henglong), commercial vehicle repacking and sales (Fujian Qiaolong), and manufacture and sale of automobile electronic systems and parts (Wuhan Chuguanjie). The Company has business relationships with approximately more than sixty vehicle manufacturers. The Company purchases manufactured components and raw materials for use in its manufacturing processes. The components and raw materials the Company purchases include castings, finished sub-components, aluminum, and steel, fabricated metal electronic parts and molded plastic parts. The Company's sells its products to the original equipment manufacturing including Chrysler North America, Dongfeng Auto Group Co., Ltd., Beiqi Foton, SAIC Motor, Baoding Great Wall Automobile Holding Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, Shengyang Brilliance Jinbei Automobile Co., Ltd., China FAW Group Corporation, BYD Auto Co., Ltd, and Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. The Company's competitors include Shanghai ZF and First Auto FKS, FKS. The Company is subject to the requirements of U.S. federal, state, local and non-U.S., including Chinas, environmental and occupational safety and health laws and regulations.
