CAE Inc was incorporated as Canadian Aviation Electronics Ltd., under the laws of Canada on March 17, 1947. In 1965, the name of the Company was changed to CAE Industries Ltd. and in 1993 the Company changed its name to CAE Inc. The Company and its subsidiaries design, manufacture and supply simulation equipment, and provide training and develop integrated training solutions for defence and security markets, commercial airlines, business aircraft operators, helicopter operators, aircraft manufacturers and for healthcare education and service providers.. The Company offers flight training devices based on the same software used on its simulators. The Company's operations are managed through three segments; Civil Aviation Training Solutions, Defence and Security, and Healthcare. The Civil Aviation Training Solutions provide comprehensive training solutions for flight, cabin, maintenance and ground personnel in commercial, business and helicopter aviation, a range of flight simulation training devices, as well as ab initio pilot training and crew sourcing services. The Defence and Security segment is a training systems integrator for defence forces across the air, land and sea domains, and for government and civil security organizations responsible for public safety. The Healthcare segment designs, manufactures and markets simulators, simulation centre management solutions and courseware for training of medical and allied healthcare students and clinicians in educational institutions, hospitals and defence organizations.
