CAS Medical Systems Inc is a Delaware corporation organized in 1984. It is a medical technology company that develops, manufactures and markets non-invasive patient monitoring products that are vital to patient care. Its products include the FORE-SIGHT Absolute Tissue Oximeter and sensors, and its Traditional Monitoring products which include MAXNIBP blood pressure measurement technology, bedside monitoring products, and neonatal vital signs supplies. These products are designed to provide accurate, non-invasive, biologic measurements that guide clinicians to provide better patient care. The Company reports two categories of revenue within one reportable business unit: Tissue Oximetry Monitoring includes sales of the Companys FORE-SIGHT Absolute Tissue Oximeter monitors, sensors and accessories; and Traditional Monitoring includes sales of the Companys traditional vital signs products and services including sales to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) of the Companys proprietary non-invasive blood pressure technology (MAXNIBP) for inclusion in the OEM customers own multi-parameter monitors; bedside vital signs monitors and accessories incorporating various combinations of measurement parameters for both human and veterinary use such as MAXNIBP non-invasive blood pressure, pulse oximetry, electrocardiography (ECG), temperature, and capnography (CO² measurements); neonatal intensive care vital signs supplies including electrodes and skin temperature probes and service repair. The Company markets its products through hospital, surgery center and outpatient facility, homecare, veterinary and emergency medical distribution channels. The Company competes in the broader medical equipment market for patient monitoring equipment and supplies. Medical products of the type currently being marketed and under development by the Company are subject to regulation under the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (the FD&C Act) and numerous acts and amendments such as the Quality System Regulations (QSR), often referred to as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's). The Company also offers a line of non-invasive vital signs monitoring products for various general care settings, such as hospital wards, outpatient medical surgical units, recovery rooms, procedure labs, physician offices, long term care facilities, and emergency response settings.
