Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Inc was incorporated in Tennessee in 1969. The Company along with its subsidiaries is engaged in the operation and development in the United States ("U.S.") of the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store concept. It mainly offers home-style country cooking featuring many of its own recipes that emphasize authenticity and quality. The Company's Cracker Barrel store consists of a restaurant with a gift shop. The restaurants serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The gift shop area offers a variety of decorative and functional items specializing in rocking chairs, holiday gifts, toys, apparel and foods. The format of its stores consists of a trademarked rustic, old country-store design offering a full-service restaurant menu featuring home-style country food and a variety of decorative and functional items featuring rocking chairs, holiday and seasonal gifts and toys, apparel, cookware and foods. It also offers items for sale in the gift shop that are featured on, or related to, the restaurant menu, such as pies, cornbread mix, coffee, syrups and pancake mixes. The Company operates approximately 637 stores in 42 states. It competes with other national and regional restaurant and retail chains. The Company is subject to extensive federal, state and local laws and regulations.
