China Eastern Airlines Corp Ltd is an air carrier operating in China. The Company and its subsidiaries are engaged in the operation of civil aviation, including the provision of domestic, regional and international passenger airline services.

China Eastern Airlines Corp Ltd was established on April 14, 1995 under the laws of China. In February 1997, the Company completed its initial public offering. The Company operates as a air carriers in China and is an important domestic airline based in and serving Shanghai, which is considered to be the international financial center and the international shipping center of China. The Company operates from its core hub in Shanghai and regional hubs in Kunming and Xi'an. The Company is engaged in provision of domestic, regional and international passenger airline services. The Company faces competition in each of the domestic, regional and international markets that it serves. In its domestic markets, it competes against all airline companies that have the same routes, including smaller domestic airline companies that operate with costs that are lower than the Company's costs. In its regional and international markets, it competes against international airline companies that have significantly longer operating histories, greater name recognition, more resources or larger sales networks than the Company does, or utilize more developed reservation systems than The Company's reservation systems.
