Century Aluminum Co produces primary aluminum. The Company's primary aluminumis an internationally traded commodity. Its primary aluminum facilities produces value-added and standard-grade primary aluminum products.

Century Aluminum Co is a Delaware corporation formed in 1995. The Company is primary aluminum producer. The Company operates its business through one reportable segment, primary aluminum. Primary aluminum is an internationally traded commodity and its price is effectively determined on the London Metal Exchange. Its facilities produce standard grade and value-added primary aluminum products. Its customers include: Glencore, Southwire, RTA, BHP Billiton. Its raw materials include: carbon anodes, cathode blocks, calcined petroleum coke, silicon carbide, aluminum fluoride, alumina, natural gas and liquid pitch. Its suppliers are: Landsvirkjun, Kenergy Corporation, Kenergy, among others. Company competes with U.S. and international companies in the aluminum industry in the areas of product portfolio, price, quality and service. In addition, aluminum competes with materials such as steel, copper, carbon fiber, composites, plastic and glass, each of which may be substituted for aluminum in certain applications. Company is subject to various environmental laws and regulations both in the U.S. and in other countries.
