Business Description

CEVA, Inc. was incorporated in Delaware on November 22, 1999. The Company is a licensor of silicon intellectual property (SIP) mainly for the handsets, portable multimedia and consumer electronics markets. For more than fifteen years, the company has been licensing a portfolio of Digital Signal Processor (DSP) cores, subsystems and platforms to semiconductor and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) companies worldwide. These technologies include: a family of programmable DSP cores with a range of cost, power-efficiency and performance points; and a portfolio of application-specific platforms, including wireless baseband, audio, imaging & vision, VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocols), Bluetooth and serial storage technology (Serial ATA (SATA) and Serial Attached SCSI (SAS)). The Company's customers are Broadcom, Intel, Intersil, Marvell, Mediatek, Mindspeed, MStar, NXP, Nufront, PMC-Sierra, Renesas, Samsung, Sharp, Solomon Systech, Sony, Spreadtrum, ST Ericsson, Sunplus, and VIA Telecom. The Company licenses its technology through a direct sales force. The Company competes with other suppliers of licensed DSP cores and solutions. The Company faces direct competition in the DSP core space mainly from Cognovo, Coresonic and Verisilicon, which licenses DSP cores in addition to its semiconductor business.
