CEVA Inc was incorporated in Delaware on November 22, 1999. The Company was formed through the combination of Parthus Technologies plc and the digital signal processor cores licensing business and operations of DSP Group, Inc. in November 2002. The Company licenses a family of programmable DSP cores and application-specific platforms, vision, imaging, audio and voice, as well as communications technologies, including wireless and wired modems, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Serial ATA and Serial Attached SCSI. The Company's technologies are licensed to semiconductor and original equipment manufacturer companies in the form of intellectual property. These companies design, manufacture, market and sell application-specific integrated circuits and application-specific standard products based on the Company's technology to wireless, consumer electronics and automotive companies for incorporation into different end products. The Company's portfolio includes comprehensive platforms for multimode 2G/3G/LTE/LTE-A baseband processing in terminals and infrastructure, computer vision and computational photography for any camera-enabled device, audio/voice/speech and ultra-low power always-on/sensing applications for multiple IoT markets. The Company offers IPs for Bluetooth (Smart and Smart Ready), Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n/ac up to 4x4) and serial storage (SATA and SAS). The Company markets to companies in the U.S., Europe and Asia. The Company's customers include Actions, Atmel, Beken, Broadcom, Dialog Semiconductor, DSP Group, FujiFilm, Fujitsu, Intel, Leadcore, LG Electronics, Mediatek, MegaChips, Novatek, NXP, Panasonic, Renesas, Rockchip, Rohm, Samsung, Sharp, Sigma, Sony, Spreadtrum, STMicroelectronics, Toshiba, VIA Technologies, VIA Telecom, Yamaha and ZTE. The Company competes with other suppliers of licensed DSP cores platforms and connectivity IPs. The Company's competitors include Verisilicon, Cadence-Tensilica, Imagination Technologies, Sunrise Micro, Mindtree, ARM Holdings, Cadence, Imagination Technologies and Synopsys. The Company holds 50 patents in the United States, one patent in Canada, 29 patents in the EME region and seven patents in Asia Pacific region, totaling 87 patents, with expiration dates between 2017 and 2033. The Company has 12 patent applications pending in the United States, 7 pending patent applications in Canada, 14 pending patent applications in the EME region and 6 pending patent applications in the APAC region, totaling 39 pending patent applications.
