Business Description

Canfor Corporation was founded in 1938. The company is an integrated forest products company based in Vancouver, British Columbia (BC) with operations in BC, Alberta, Quebec, Washington State, and North and South Carolina. The Company produces mainly softwood lumber and also produces oriented strand board (OSB), remanufactured lumber products, specialized wood products and bleached chemi-thermo mechanical pulp (BCTMP). The main operating company is Canadian Forest Products Ltd., from which the name Canfor is derived. The Company has an annual production capability of approximately 5 billion board feet of lumber, 1 billion square feet of OSB and 200,000 tonnes of BCTMP. The Company also has approximately 10 million cubic meters of allowable annual cut for solid wood operations under its forest tenures, 97% of which is CSA SFM certified. The Company also owns a 50.2% interest in Canfor Pulp Limited Partnership, which is one of the producers of northern softwood kraft pulp in Canada and a leading producer of high performance kraft paper.
