City Holding Company is a West Virginia bank holding corporation. The Company conducts its activities through its subsidiary, City National Bank, provides credit, deposit, trust and investment management, and insurance products and services. Through its network of 68 banking offices in West Virginia (57 offices), Kentucky (8 offices), and Ohio (3 offices), City National provides credit, deposit, trust and investment management, and insurance products and services to its customers. The Company's loan portfolio is comprised of commercial, residential real estate, home equity, consumer loans and previously securitized loans. The commercial loan portfolio consists of loans to corporate borrowers mainly in small to mid-size industrial and commercial companies, as well as automobile dealers, service, retail and wholesale merchants. Residential mortgage loans represent loans to consumers for the purchase or refinance of a residence. Home equity lending includes both home equity loans and lines-of-credit. Consumer loans are secured by automobiles, boats, recreational vehicles, and other personal property. Previously Securitized Loans were recorded as a result of the Company's early redemption of the outstanding notes attributable to the Company's six loan securitization trusts. The Company, as a registered bank holding company, and City National, as an insured depository institution, operate in a highly regulated environment and are regularly examined by federal and state regulators. The Company's principal markets are located in West Virginia. In its markets, the Company competes with national, regional, and local community banks for deposit, credit, trust and investment management, and insurance customers.
