CompX International Inc., was incorporated in Delaware in 1993. The Company manufactures security products used in the recreational transportation, postal, office and institutional furniture, cabinetry, tool storage, healthcare and a variety of other industries. It also manufactures stainless steel exhaust systems, gauges and throttle controls for the recreational marine industry. It operates in two business segments: Security Products and Marine Components. The Security Products segment offers products including CompX Security Products, National Cabinet Lock Fort Lock, Fort, Timberline, Chicago Lock, and System 64. The Marine Components segment offers products including Custom Marine, Livorsi Marine, Livorsi II Marine, Custom Marine Stainless Exhaust, and CompX Marine. The Security Products segment competes against a number of domestic and foreign manufacturers. The Marine Components segment competes with small domestic manufacturers. The Company's operations are subject to federal, state, local and foreign laws and regulations relating to the use, storage, handling, generation, transportation, treatment, emission, discharge, disposal, remediation of and exposure to hazardous and non-hazardous substances, materials and wastes. Its operations also are subject to federal, state, local and foreign laws and regulations relating to worker health and safety.
