Checkpoint Systems, Inc. was founded in 1969. The Company is engaged in the provision of shrink management, merchandise visibility and apparel labeling solutions. Checkpoint enables retailers and their suppliers to reduce shrink, improve shelf availability and leverage real-time data to achieve operational excellence. Checkpoint solutions are built upon 40years of radio-frequency technology expertise, diverse shrink management offerings; a broad portfolio of apparel labeling solutions; Radio Frequency Identification applications; innovative high-theft solutions; and its Web-based Check-Netdata management platform. It is a provider of, and earn revenues primarily from the sale of Shrink Management Solutions, Apparel Labeling Solutions and Retail Merchandising Solutions. Shrink Management Solutions consists of electronic article surveillance (EAS) systems and EAS consumables including Alpha solutions, store monitoring solutions (CheckView), and radio frequency identification (RFID) systems, software, tags and labels. Apparel Labeling Solutions includes its web-enabled apparel labeling solutions platform and network of service bureaus to manage the printing of variable information on price and promotional tickets, adhesive labels, fabric and woven tags and labels, and apparel branding tags. Retail Merchandising Solutions consists of hand-held labeling systems (HLS) and retail display systems (RDS). Applications of these products include primarily retail security, asset and merchandise visibility, automatic identification, and pricing and promotional labels and signage. Operating directly in 29 countries, it has a global network of subsidiaries and distributors, and provides customer service and technical support around the world. As a result, Checkpoint customers enjoy increased sales and profits by improving supply-chain efficiencies, by facilitating on-demand label printing and by providing a secure open-merchandising environment enhancing the consumer's shopping experience.The operations of the company is subject to regulations by federal, state, and local governmental agencies with respect to safety of operations and equipment, labor and employment matters, and financial responsibility.
