Clearfield, Inc., formerly APA Enterprises, Inc., is a Minnesota corporation which was founded in 1979. The Company is a manufacturer of various standard and custom passive connectivity products to customers throughout the United States. These products include fiber distribution systems, optical components, Outside Plant cabinets, and fiber and copper cable assemblies that serve the communication service provider, including Fiber-to-the-Premises, large enterprise, and original equipment manufacturers markets. The Company deploys a hybrid sales model with some sales made directly to the customer, some made through two-tier distribution (channel) partners, and some sales through original equipment suppliers who private label its products. The Company's Competitors include Corning Cabling Systems, Inc., OFS (Furukawa Electric North America, Inc.), AFL Telecommunications, Fujikura Ltd., Alcatel, Inc., TE Connectivity, Inc., Emerson Network Power, a subsidiary of Emerson Electric Co., and Charles Industries, Ltd.
