Core Molding Technologies, Inc. was incorporated in 1996. The Company, together with its subsidiaries, manufactures sheet molding compound and fiberglass reinforced plastics in United States, Mexico and Canada. Its product line includes sheet molding compound, glass mat thermoplastic compound, resin transfer molding, reaction injection molding, as well as open molded products. The Company operates in one business segment as a manufacturer of SMC and molder of fiberglass reinforced plastics. The Company produces and sells SMC and molded products for varied markets, including light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks, automobiles and automotive aftermarket, marine, construction and other commercial products. It operates four production facilities in Columbus, Ohio; Batavia, Ohio; Gaffney, South Carolina; and Matamoros, Mexico. The Company faces competition from a number of other molders including, Magna Exteriors and Interiors USA, Inc. (an operating unit of Magna International), Molded Fiber Glass Companies, Continental Structural Plastics, Ashley Industrial Molding, Sigma Industries and The Composites Group. The Company's manufacturing operations are subject to federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.
