Coca-Cola Bottling Co Consolidated is a Delaware corporation incorporated in the year 1980. The Company along with its subsidiaries produces, markets, and distributes nonalcoholic beverages, primarily products of The Coca-Cola Company. Nonalcoholic beverage products are in two categories; sparkling beverages and still beverages. Sparkling beverages are mainly beverages with carbonation, including energy drinks; and still beverages mainly beverages without carbonation, including bottled water, tea, ready-to-drink coffee, enhanced water, juices and sports drinks. The Company's principal sparkling beverage is Coca-Cola. The Company offers various flavors to the consumers. The main packaging materials for the Company's beverages are plastic bottles and aluminum cans. In addition, the Company provides restaurants and other immediate consumption outlets with fountain products or post-mix. Fountain products are dispensed through equipment that mixes the fountain syrup with carbonated or still water, enabling fountain retailers to sell finished products to consumers in cups or glasses. The Company develops, markets, and distributes certain products which it owns. These products include Country Breeze tea, Tum-E Yummies, a vitamin-C enhanced flavored drink and Fuel in a Bottle power shots. The Company markets and sells these products nationally. The Company's competitors include bottlers and distributors of nationally advertised and marketed products, regionally advertised and marketed products, as well as bottlers and distributors of private label beverages in supermarket stores. The production and marketing of beverages are subject to the rules and regulations of the United States Food and Drug Administration and other federal, state and local health agencies.
