CPFL Energia generates, transmits, and distributes electricity in Brazil. The company serves 6.7 million customers in the states of Sao Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul. The firm is Brazil's largest private power distributor with a 13% share of the national power distribution market. It also holds a 16% share of the commercialization market and 2% of total generation, focusing mainly on renewables. The commercialization unit procures power for the firm's distribution businesses and sells power to free consumers and other distribution utilities.
