In October 2007, the Company changed its name to CareView Communications, Inc. It provides products and on-demand application services for the healthcare industry, specializing in bedside video monitoring, software tools to improve hospital communications and operations, and patient education and entertainment packages. Its proprietary, high-speed data network system is the next generation of patient care monitoring that allows real-time bedside and point-of-care video monitoring designed to improve patient safety and overall hospital costs. The Company develops a suite of products and hardware to help connect patients, families and health care providers through one easy-to-install and simple-to-use data and patient monitoring system, the CareView System. For the hospital, it offers tools to provide superior patient care, peace of mind and customer service satisfaction. Its CareView System suite of video monitoring, guest services and related applications connect patients, families and healthcare providers. Its products and services are used in all types of hospitals, nursing homes, adult living centers and selected outpatient care facilities domestically and internationally. The Company offers products and services designed to meet individual hospital needs to enhance quality patient care and safety. Its services are offered with no capital expenditure by the hospital and do not require extensive integration with the facility's management information system. The CareView System offers the following Service Packages; SecureView, NurseView, PhysicianView, Virtual Bed Rails, Virtual Chair Rails, Fall Management Program and Rounding. Its Additional Products are; Sitter Management Program, BedView, Patient Education, FacilityView, Nurse Alerts and Reminders, Ulcer Management, areView Connect, NICUView, Patient Feedback Applications, and The CareView Broadcast System. Its Guest Services Package are; PatientView, NetView, MovieView, and BabyView. The Company generates sales through a variety of means including direct one-to-one marketing, email and web campaigns, customer and industry referrals, strategic partnerships, and trade shows and events. It provides installation and technical support for its customers through third-party providers located across the United States that it contract on a per-job basis. The Company competes with Cisco Systems, Inc., Avasure, Royal Philips Electronics, Stanley and Posey, Stryker and Hill-Rom, GetWellNetwork, privately held by Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, Skylight Healthcare Systems, Sonifi Solutions, Inc., TeleTracking Technologies, Inc., Aionex, Inc., BedWatch, Inc., Vocera, Inc., and Voalte, Inc.
