Capital Senior Living Corp was incorporated under the laws of the State of Delaware in October 1996. The Company is an operators of senior living communities in the United States in terms of resident capacity. The Company provides senior living services to the elderly, including independent living and assisted living services, and also provides home care services at one of its communities. By offering a variety of services and encouraging the active participation of the resident and the resident's family and medical consultants, the Company is able to customize its service plan to meet the specific needs and desires of each resident. As of December 31, 2013, the Company operated 112 senior living communities in 26 states with an aggregate capacity of approximately 14,600 residents, including 62 senior living communities which the Company either owned or in which the Company had an ownership interest and 50 senior living communities that the Company leased. As of December 31, 2013, the Company also operated one home care agency. The Company focuses on providing quality care and services that are personalized and tailored to meet the individual needs of each community resident. Its residences and services are designed to provide a broad range of care that permits residents to age in place as their needs change and as they develop further physical or cognitive frailties. The Company primarily competes with Brookdale Senior Living Inc., Emeritus Corporation, and Five Star Quality Care, Inc.
