1. Operating Margin
2. Trend of the Operating Margin (5-year average). The company with an uptrend profit margin has a higher rank.
••3. Consistency of the profitability
4. Piotroski F-Score
5. Predictability Rank•

The maximum rank is 10. A rank of 7 or higher means a higher profitability and may stay that way. A rank of 3 or lower indicates that the company has had trouble to make a profit.

Charles & Colvard Ltd was founded in June 1995. The Company manufactures, markets, and distributes Charles & Colvard Created Moissanite jewels, finished jewelry featuring moissanite, and fashion finished jewelry for sale in the international jewelry market. Moissanite, also known by its chemical name of silicon carbide, or SiC, a rare mineral first discovered in a meteor crater. Since naturally occurring SiC crystals are too small for commercial use, larger crystals are grown in the laboratory. The Company along with its subsidiaries sells loose moissanite jewels and finished jewelry at wholesale to distributors, manufacturers, and retailers and at retail to end consumers. The Company's reporting segments are Wholesale Distribution and Direct-to-Consumer Distribution. Finished jewelry featuring moissanite is sold through Wholesale Distribution segment to consumers through a range of channels, including single and multiple location independent jewelry stores, jewelry store chains, online retailers, television shopping networks, department stores, and catalogs. In addition, the Company has allowed loose moissanite jewel and finished jewelry inventory to be placed in stores on a consignment basis. The international wholesale distribution is currently comprised of loose moissanite jewels that are sold to international distributors for resale to jewelry manufacturers and retailers in their local markets. The Company currently has over 30 international wholesale distributors for loose moissanite jewels covering portions of Western Europe, Australia, India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. All of the Company's direct-to-consumer distribution is domestic. The Company sells its product lines through two distribution channels namely loose jewels and finished jewelry. It sources the metals used for finished jewelry, including white and yellow gold, sterling silver, and palladium from manufacturers located primarily in the U.S. or internationally in China, India, Mexico, or Thailand. The Company is subject to governmental regulations in the manufacture and sale of moissanite jewels and finished jewelry.
