Business Description

Connecticut Water Service is a non-operating holding company, which operates through its four wholly-owned subsidiary companies: The Connecticut Water Company (Connecticut Water), New England Water Utility Services, Inc. (NEWUS), Chester Realty Company (Chester Realty), and Barnstable Holding Company (Barnstable Holding). It operates mainly in three segments: water activities, real estate transactions, and services and rentals. The Water Activities segment is comprised of its core regulated water activities. The company's real estate transactions segment involves the sale or donation for income tax benefits of its real estate holdings. The company's services and rentals segment provides contracted services to water and wastewater utilities and other clients and also leases certain of its properties to third parties through its unregulated companies.
