Carnival PLC operates as a cruise company. It also operates as a vacation company in the world. It separates its cruise brand operating segments into three reportable cruise segments. These three reportable cruise segments are North America cruise brands, Europe, Australia & Asia cruise brands and Cruise Support. North America cruise segment includes Carnival Cruise Lines, Holland America Line, Princess and Seabourn. Europe, Australia & Asia cruise segment includes AIDA, Costa, Cunard, Ibero, P&O Cruises (UK) and P&O Cruises (Australia). These individual cruise brand operating segments have been aggregated as two reportable segments based on the similarity of their economic and other characteristics, including the products and services they provide. The company Cruise Support segment represents certain of the company's port and related facilities and other corporate-wide services that are provided for the benefit of the company's cruise brands. The company's Tour and Other segment represent the hotel tour and transportation operations of Holland America Princess Alaska Tours and the company's two owned ships that it charter to an unaffiliated entity.
