Cypress Semiconductor Corp with its subsidiaries, designs, develops, manufactures and markets high-performance, mixed-signal, programmable solutions that provide customers with rapid time-to-market and system value.

Cypress Semiconductor Corp was incorporated in California on December 1982. Its initial public offering took place in May 1986. The Company, along with its subsidiaries, designs, develops, manufactures and markets high-performance, mixed-signal, programmable solutions that provide customers with rapid time-to-market and system value. Its offerings include the PSoC programmable system-on-chip, universal serial bus controllers, general-purpose programmable clocks and memories. It also provides wired and wireless connectivity technologies that enhance connectivity and performance in multimedia handsets. It provides a portfolio of static random access memories, nonvolatile memories and image sensor products. It serves markets, including consumer, computation, handsets, data communications, automotive and industrial. Its business segment includes: Memory Products Division, Data Communications Division, Programmable Systems Division and Emerging Technologies Division. Memory Products Division focuses on static random access memory, nonvolatile RAMs and general-purpose programmable clocks. Data Communications Division focuses on USB controllers and Wireless USB peripheral controllers for industrial, handset and consumer applications, Bluetooth Low Energy solutions that leverage Cypress's PRoC programmable radio-on-chip technology, Wireless US solutions, module solutions such as trackpads and Bluetooth Low Energy modules, and controllers for the new USB Type-C standard. Programmable Systems Division focuses primarily on PSoC and PSoC-based products. Its portfolio includes high-performance Traveo automotive microcontrollers, PSoC programmable system-on-chip products, ARM Cortex -M4, -M3, -M0+ microcontrollers and R4 CPUs, Analog PMIC Power management ICs, CapSense capacitive-sensing controllers, TrueTouch touchscreen and fingerprint reader products, and PSoC Bluetooth Low Energy solutions for the Internet. Emerging Technologies Division includes AgigA Tech Inc. and Deca Technologies Inc., both majority-owned subsidiaries of the Company. Emerging Technologies Division also includes its foundry business and other development-stage activities. The Company sells its semiconductor products through channels which include: sales through domestically-based distributors; sales through international distributors and manufacturing representative firms; and sales by its sales force to direct original equipment manufacturers and their manufacturers. Its marketing and sales efforts are organized around five regions: North Americas, Europe, Japan, Korea, and Rest of Asia. The Company's competitors include Altera, Analog Devices, Freescale, Integrated Device Technology, GSI Technology, Integrated Silicon Solution, Lattice Semiconductor, Linear Technology, Maxim Integrated Products, Microchip Technology, Renesas, Samsung, Silicon Laboratories, Synaptics, Texas Instruments and Xilinx.
