Danone is a food company that produces fresh dairy products, baby nutrition, biscuits and medical nutrition products.

Danone SA was incorporated on January 1, 1908. The Company is a food company that produces fresh dairy products, baby nutrition, biscuits and medical nutrition products. It also co-produces bottled water. The Company's portfolio of brands and products include Danone, a brand of fresh dairy products; Evian, a brand of bottled still water; Volvic, its international brand of bottled still water, and Aqua, a brand of packaged water in Indonesia. The Company continuously renews its product lines in terms of flavor, texture, ingredients, nutritional content and packaging. The Company has four segments. The Company's Early Life Nutrition Division focuses on the first 1,000 days of the child, i.e. from the first day of pregnancy until age 2. The Division's activity consists of specialized foods for babies and young children to complement breast-feeding while always complying with the World Health Organization (WHO) Code and local laws. It also offers products and services to pregnant women and nursing mothers. The Medical Nutrition Division focuses mainly on dietary management of patients receiving medical treatment, babies afflicted with certain illnesses and frail elderly people. The Fresh Dairy Products Division produces and markets yogurts, fermented fresh dairy products and specialized dairy products. The Waters Division comprises the natural waters business along with Aquadrinks. The Division's products are designed primarily to treat malnutrition due to disease in order to satisfy special food needs. The Company's competitors in its respective business lines include: Multinational food and beverage corporations such as Coca-Cola; General Mills; Kellogg's; Kraft Heinz; Mondelez; Nestlé; PepsiCo; Unilever; Corporations in the medical nutrition and early life nutrition segments such as Abbott and Mead Johnson, more local companies specialized in certain product lines or markets such as Fresenius; Lala; Yakult and Biostime.
