Donegal Group Inc is a Delaware Corporation organized on August 26, 1986. It is an insurance holding company whose insurance subsidiaries offer personal and commercial lines of property and casualty insurance to businesses and individuals in 22 Mid-Atlantic, Midwestern, New England and Southern states. The Company operates in four segments; investment function, personal lines of insurance, commercial lines of insurance and investment in DFSC. The personal lines products of its insurance subsidiaries consist primarily of homeowners and private passenger automobile policies. The commercial lines products of its insurance subsidiaries consist primarily of commercial automobile, commercial multi-peril and workers' compensation policies. The Company's insurance subsidiaries and Donegal Mutual provide their policyholders with a selection of insurance products at competitive rates, while pursuing profitability by adhering to a strict underwriting discipline. The Company's insurance subsidiaries derive a substantial portion of their insurance business from smaller to mid-sized regional communities. The Company is subject to regulation by the FRB under the holding company provisions of the federal Home Owners Loan Act, or HOLA.
