ECA Marcellus Trust I is a Delaware statutory trust formed in March 2010 by Energy Corporation of America (ECA) to own royalty interests in eight producing horizontal natural gas wells producing from the Marcellus Shale formation, together with six additional wells that are undergoing completion operations. These are located in Greene County, Pennsylvania (the Producing Wells) and royalty interests in 52 horizontal natural gas development wells to be drilled to the Marcellus Shale formation (the PUD Wells) within the 'Area of Mutual Interest,' or 'AMI', comprised of approximately 9,300 acres held by ECA, of which it owns substantially all of the working interests, in Greene County, Pennsylvania. The natural gas exploration and production operations of the Company are subject to stringent and comprehensive federal, state and local laws and regulations.
