Consolidated Edison Inc was incorporated in New York State on September 3, 1997. The Company, through its subsidiaries, provides regulated electric and gas delivery, electricity to retail customers, energy-related products and services, and develops, owns and operates renewable and energy infrastructure projects. Its principal business segments are its regulated electric, gas and steam businesses. The Company's customers include natural gas and steam to customers in New York City and Westchester County, customers primarily located in southeastern New York, and northern New Jersey and northeastern Pennsylvania. The Company's activities are subject to regulation by the NYSPSC, which under the New York Public Service Law, is authorized to set the terms of service and the rates the Utilities charge for providing service in New York.
