Energen Corp is a domestic oil and gas exploration and production company. Its reserves are primarily in the Permian basin of west Texas. The Company is also exploring the potential of an emerging oil play in the Mancos formation in the San Juan Basin.

Energen Corp was incorporated in 1978. The Company is a domestic oil and gas exploration and production company. Its operations are conducted through its subsidiary, Energen Resources Corporation (Energen Resources). Its reserves are in the Permian basin of west Texas and and San Juan Basin in New Mexico. The Company has approximately 775 million barrels of oil-equivalent proved, probable, and possible reserves and another 2.5 billion barrels of oil-equivalent contingent resources.
