EastGroup Properties, Inc. is an equity real estate investment trust organized in 1969. The Company develops, acquires and operates industrial properties in major Sunbelt markets throughout the United States with an emphasis in the states of Florida, Texas, Arizona, California and North Carolina. As of December 31, 2012, it owns a portfolio of 275 industrial properties and one office building. These properties are located primarily in the Sunbelt states of Florida, Texas, Arizona, California and North Carolina. As of February 15, 2013, its property portfolio was 93.9% leased and 93.2% occupied. The Company has developed approximately 33% of its total portfolio, including real estate properties and development properties in lease-up and under construction. It primarily focuses on the ownership of business distribution space with the remainder in bulk distribution space and business service space.
