The Company, through its subsidiaries, is engaged in providing real estate agency and brokerage services in the primary and secondary markets and real estate consulting and information services in the People's Republic of China. The Company's main business has traditionally been providing primary real estate agency services to real estate developers of mainly residential properties. It provides secondary real estate brokerage services and plans to systematically expand its listing and brokerage services. The listing and brokerage services include both sales and rentals. Currently, the Company focuses its secondary real estate brokerage services in three metropolitan areas within China: Shanghai, Wuhan and Hangzhou. It also provides secondary real estate brokerage services in Hong Kong and Macau. The Company's services include primary real estate agency services, secondary real estate brokerage services, real estate information and consulting services, real estate advertising services, real estate online services, and real estate investment fund management. It conducts its real estate information and consulting services, real estate advertising services and real estate online services through its majority-owned subsidiary, CRIC. The Company provides real estate consulting and information services tailored to meet the needs of developer clients at various stages of the project development and sales process and other clients with particular requests and needs. Its consulting services are divided into land acquisition consulting and real estate development consulting. In addition to developers and land owners and brokers, the Company also provides consulting services to investors interested in purchasing businesses with land or other real estate assets. It also provides consulting services to banks, real estate trade associations and governmental property and planning agencies. In January 2008, the Company formed a new real estate investment fund, E-House China Real Estate Investment Fund I, L.P. Investors of the Fund include both institutions and individuals. The Company's proprietary CRIC system contains a set of real estate sales data in China covering information on land, residential, office and commercial spaces, as well as real estate related advertisements. The Company has advertising arrangements with many Chinese national and regional consumer media outlets, including television stations, newspapers and industry publications. It also advertises and distributes informational brochures, posters and flyers at various real estate conferences, exhibitions and trade shows. Its E-House Research and Training Institute frequently organizes seminars and workshops for real estate developers and other participants in the real estate industry.
