Emrise Corporation is a Delaware Corporation formed in 1989. The Company designs, manufactures and markets proprietary electronic devices and communications equipment for aerospace, defense, industrial, and communications markets. Its products perform functions such as power supply and power conversion; radio frequency and microwave signal conditioning; and network access and timing and synchronization of communications networks. The Company conducts business through two operating segments: electronic devices and communications equipment. Its two electronic devices segment business units, XCEL Power Systems Ltd and Pascall Electronics Limited are located in the United Kingdom. Its two communications equipment business units, CXR Larus Corporation and CXR Anderson-Jacobson, are located in the United States and France, respectively. Within its electronic devices segment, it produces power systems, RF and microwave devices, and sub-system assemblies. Within its communications equipment segment, it produces network access products and network timing and synchronization products for public and private communications networks. The Company sells commercial and military electronic devices primarily to original equipment manufacturers, including manufacturers of aerospace and defense systems and industrial equipment. The electronic devices market is highly fragmented and competitive and is comprised of a diverse group of original equipment manufacturers. The communications equipment market is intensely competitive and subject to rapid technological change, evolving industry standards and regulatory developments. The Company designs products to comply with a significant number of industry standards and regulations, some of which are evolving as new technologies are deployed.
