Evolution Petroleum Corp formerly known as Natural Gas Systems, Inc was incorporated on May 24, 1994 in Nevada. It is Petroleum Company engaged mainly in the acquisition, exploitation and development of properties for the production of crude oil and natural gas in United States. It acquires known, underdeveloped oil and natural gas resources and exploits them through the application of capital and technology to increase production, ultimate recoveries, or both. The assets it exploits fits into three types of project opportunities: Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), Bypassed Primary Resources, & Unconventional Development, especially utilizing Company's staff expertise in horizontal drilling. Its projects include: Delhi Field, Louisiana- its Holt Bryant Unit is currently being redeveloped by the Operator, using CO2 enhanced oil recovery technology and a dedicated portion of the Operator's proved CO2 reserves in the Jackson Dome; Bypassed Primary Resource Projects; Mississippi Lime - Kay County, North Central Oklahoma; Giddings Field - Central Texas; & Woodford Shale Projects in Oklahoma. The Company's competitors include integrated crude oil and natural gas companies and numerous independent crude oil and natural gas companies, individuals and drilling and income programs. Crude oil and natural gas drilling and production operations are regulated by various federal, state and local agencies.
