Era Group Inc is a helicopter operator and the longest serving helicopter transport operator in the United States, which is its primary area of operations. It operates three classes of helicopters: Heavy, Medium and Light helicopters.

Era Group Inc was incorporated in 1999 in Delaware. The Company provides helicopters and related services. The Company's helicopters used to transport personnel to, from and between offshore oil and gas production platforms, drilling rigs and other installations. In addition to serving the oil and gas industry, the company provides air medical services, utility services to support firefighting, mining, power line and pipeline survey activities and Alaska flightseeing tours activities. The Company owns and operates three classes of helicopters which include Heavy helicopters, Medium helicopters, and Light helicopters. The Company's customers include Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, Petroleo Brasileiro S.A., Shell Pipeline Company, LP, Energy Resource Technology, Inc and the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, a U.S. government agency. Its competitors are Bristow Group Inc., PHI, Inc. and Rotorcraft Leasing Company LLC., Air Methods Corporation, PHI, Air Medical Group Holdings, Element Financial Corporation, Lease Corporation International (Aviation) Limited, Macquarie Rotocraft Leasing Limited, Milestone Aviation Group Limited and Waypoint Leasing Limited. It has operations in United States, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, Asia, and Canada. The Company's operations are subject to federal, state and local regulations in the U.S., as well as international treaties and conventions and the laws of foreign jurisdictions where the company operates its equipment or where the equipment is registered or operated.
