Entergy Corp is incorporated in Delaware. The Company is an integrated energy company. It is engaged in electric power production and retail electric distribution operations. It owns and operates power plants with approximately 30,000 MW of electric generating capacity, including over 10,000 MW of nuclear-fueled capacity. It delivers electricity to 2.8 million utility customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. The Company operates through two business segments namely Utility and Entergy Wholesale Commodities. Utility segments generates, transmits, distributes, and sells electric power in a four-state service territory that includes portions of Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas, and Louisiana, including the City of New Orleans; and operates a small natural gas distribution business. The Entergy Wholesale Commodities business segment includes the ownership and operation of six nuclear power plants located in the northern United States and the sale of the electric power produced by those plants to wholesale customers. The Utility business segment includes six wholly-owned retail electric utility subsidiaries: Entergy Arkansas, Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, Entergy Louisiana, Entergy Mississippi, Entergy New Orleans, and Entergy Texas. These companies generate, transmit, distribute and sell electric power to retail and wholesale customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. The Utility operating companies provided retail electric and gas service to customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Entergy Wholesale Commodities includes the ownership and operation of six nuclear power plants, five of which are located in the Northeast United States, with the sixth located in Michigan, and is focused on selling electric power produced by those plants to wholesale customers. Entergy Wholesale Commodities revenues are derived from sales of energy and generation capacity from these plants. This business also provides services to other nuclear power plant owners. Entergy Wholesale Commodities also owns interests in non-nuclear power plants that sell the electric power produced by those plants to wholesale customers. It also provides operations and management services, including decommissioning services, to nuclear power plants owned by other utilities in the United States.
