GuruFocus Profitability Rank ranks how profitable a company is and how likely the company’s business will stay that way. It is based on these factors:

1. Operating Margin
2. Trend of the Operating Margin (5-year average). The company with an uptrend profit margin has a higher rank.
••3. Consistency of the profitability
4. Piotroski F-Score
5. Predictability Rank•

The maximum rank is 10. A rank of 7 or higher means a higher profitability and may stay that way. A rank of 3 or lower indicates that the company has had trouble to make a profit.

Profitability Rank is not directly related to the Financial Strength Rank. But if a company is consistently profitable, its financial strength will be stronger.

Exterran Partners, L.P., is a publicly held Delaware limited partnership formed on June 22, 2006. The Company offers natural gas compression products and services and also provides equipment and solutions for processing, production, air emissions and water treatment. The Company contracts operations services include designing, sourcing, owning, installing, operating, servicing, repairing and maintaining equipment to provide natural gas compression to its customers. Natural gas compression is a mechanical process whereby the pressure of a volume of natural gas is increased to a desired higher pressure for transportation from one point to another and is essential to the production and transportation of natural gas. The Company also monitors its customers' compression services requirements over time and, as necessary, modifies the level of services and related equipment the company employs to address changing operating conditions. The Company provides contract operations services, which include its provision at the customer's location of the personnel, equipment, tools, materials and supplies necessary to provide the amount of natural gas compression for which the customer has contracted. Based on the operating specifications at the customer's location and the customer's needs, these services include designing, sourcing, owning, installing, operating, servicing, repairing and maintaining equipment to provide compression and other services to its customers. In June 2012, it acquired from Exterran Holdings contract operations customer service agreements with 39 customers and a fleet of 406 compressor units used to provide compression services under those agreements, comprising approximately 188,000 horsepower, or 5% (by then available horsepower) of the combined U.S. contract operations business of Exterran Holdings and it (the 'June 2011 Contract Operations Acquisition'). The Company's operations are subject to stringent and complex U.S. federal, state and local laws and regulations governing the discharge of materials into the environment or otherwise relating to protection of the environment and to occupational health and safety.
