Express, Inc., is a Delaware corporation. The Company is a specialty apparel and accessory retailer offering both women's and men's merchandise. It offers its customers an assortment of fashionable apparel and accessories to address fashion needs across multiple aspects of their lifestyles, including work, casual, jeanswear, and going-out occasions. As of February 1, 2014, it operated 632 stores across the United States, in Canada, and in Puerto Rico. Its stores are located primarily in high-traffic shopping malls, lifestyle centers, and street locations, and average approximately 8,700 gross square feet. It also sells its products through its e-commerce website, express.com, and has franchise agreements with franchisees that operate Express stores in Latin America and the Middle East. The Company centrally distributes its products from distribution centers in Columbus and Groveport, Ohio that are owned and operated by third parties. It competes with other brick-and-mortar and e-commerce retailers that engage in the retail sale of women's and men's apparel, accessories, and similar merchandise. The Company is subject to labor and employment laws, including minimum wage requirements, laws governing advertising and promotions, privacy laws, safety regulations, and other laws, such as consumer protection regulations that govern product standards and regulations with respect to the operation of its stores.
