Business Description

First Connecticut Bancorp, Inc. is incorporated in the state of Maryland. It is formed in the year 2011.The company was recently formed in connection with the conversion of the MHC from the mutual to the stock form of organization. The MHC currently owns all of the outstanding stock of Farmington Bank, a Connecticut-chartered savings bank. FCB has not engaged in any business to date. After the conversion, FCB will replace the MHC as the owner of all of the stock of Farmington Bank. Farmington Bank is a full-service, community bank with 16 full service branch offices and 4 limited service offices. Farmington Bank provides a diverse range of commercial and consumer services to businesses, individuals and governments across Central Connecticut. Farmington Bank is regulated by the Connecticut Department of Banking and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation 'FDIC'. Farmington Bank's deposits are insured to the maximum allowable under the Deposit Insurance Fund, which is administered by the FDIC. The company operates in a primarily suburban market area that has a stable population and household base. All of current offices are in Hartford County, Connecticut. Its primary market area is Central Connecticut. It provides a full range of banking services to businesses, individuals and governments in Central Connecticut. Its business is headed by a seasoned management team with prior experience in commercial and residential lending at financial institutions throughout New England. The bank also offers a full range of residential mortgage loan services. It intends to continue to invest in people, technology and the business of serving customers. The bank faces competition within market area both in making loans and attracting deposits. Hartford County has a high concentration of financial institutions including large commercial banks, community banks, credit unions and mortgage companies. FCB will be subject to comprehensive regulation and regular examinations by the Federal Reserve Board.
