First Connecticut Bancorp Inc is a holding company. The company owns common stock of Farmington Bank which provides various banking services to businesses, individuals and governments in Central Connecticut.

First Connecticut Bancorp Inc is a Maryland-chartered stock holding company that owns 100% of the common stock of Farmington Bank. The Bank is a full-service, community bank with 22 full service branch offices and 4 limited service offices located throughout Hartford County, Connecticut. Farmington Bank. It provides various commercial and consumer services to businesses, individuals and governments across Central Connecticut. The Bank is regulated by the Connecticut Department of Banking and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation ('FDIC'). The Bank's deposits are insured to the maximum allowable under the Deposit Insurance Fund, which is administered by the FDIC. The Bank is a member of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston ('FHLBB'). One of its main lending activities consists of the origination of one-to-four family residential real estate loans that are secured by properties located in Hartford County and surrounding counties in Connecticut. It also offers adjustable-rate mortgage loans for one-to-four family properties, with an interest rate that adjusts annually based on the one-year Constant Maturity Treasury Bill Index, after a one, three, five, seven or ten - year initial fixed-rate period. It offers construction loans, including commercial construction loans and real estate subdivision development loans, to developers, licensed contractors and builders for the construction and development of commercial real estate projects and residential properties. It also offers home equity loans and home equity lines of credit, both of which are secured by owner-occupied one-to-four family residences. Its government banking group provides deposit services to municipalities throughout Connecticut. The Company competes for loans and deposits with commercial banks, savings institutions, mortgage banking firms and credit unions. The Bank is subject to extensive regulation by the Connecticut Department of Banking, as its chartering agency, and by the FDIC, as its deposit insurer. The Company is subject to regulation by and required to file reports with the Connecticut Department of Banking, the Federal Reserve Board and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

(NASDAQ:FBNK) announced that its Board of Directors has voted to increase its quarterly dividend to $0.11 per share, an increase of $0.02. In making this announcement, John J. Patrick, Jr., Chairman, President, & CEO said, “Having just completed a successful year in 2016 earning $1.00 per share, the Board of Directors decided it was prudent to raise the quarterly dividend $0.02 to $0.11 per share.  This dividend represents the 22nd consecutive dividend paid to shareholders.” Dividends will be payable on March 20, 2017 to all shareholders of record as of March 10, 2017. It also announced that its Board of Directors has scheduled the corporation’s annual meeting of stockholders for 10:00 a.m. EDT, May 10, 2017 at Central Connecticut State University in the Constitution Room located in Memorial Hall, 1615 Stanley Street, New Britain, Connecticut.

The record date for stockholders to vote at the meeting is March 17, 2017.
