Business Description

First Clover Leaf Financial Corpoartion is a Maryland corporation that was incorporated on March 17, 2006. It operates as the holding company for First Clover Leaf Bank. It conducts its business through its four branch offices located in Edwardsville and Wood River, Illinois. Its main business consists of attracting retail deposits from the general public in the areas surrounding its office locations and investing those deposits, together with funds generated from operations, mainly in one- to four-family residential mortgage loans, commercial real estate loans, multifamily mortgage loans, construction and land loans, commercial business loans and consumer loans, and in investment securities. Its main lending activity includes the origination of first mortgage loans for the purchase or refinancing of one- to four-family residential property, the origination of commercial real estate loans, multi-family, commercial business loans and construction and land loans, as well as home equity loans. The Company originates two types of residential construction loans: construction/speculative loans, and construction/permanent loans. Its main sources of funds are deposits and main and interest payments on loans and securities. Its deposit products include demand and NOW, money market, savings, and term certificate accounts. It faces intense competition within its market area both in making loans and attracting deposits. First Clover Leaf Bank is a federally chartered savings association, and as such is regulated and supervised by the Office of Thrift Supervision and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
