First Citizens BancShares Inc (DE) was incorporated under the laws of Delaware on August 7, 1986. The Company is a financial holding Company registered with the Federal Reserve Board under the Bank Holding Company Act of 1956. As of December 31, 2013 it operated 397 branches in North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Tennessee, Washington, California, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Washington, DC. The Company along with its subsidiaries offers online banking services, mobile banking services, savings account, mortgage loans, investment and wealth management services, and insurance products, as well as checking and savings services, credit card services, loans and financing, small business solutions, merchant and treasury services, corporate and nonprofit services, among others. The Company competes with other banks and financial service providers. It competes with local, regional, and national banks, credit unions, commercial finance companies, wealth management providers, insurance agencies, mortgage companies and non-bank providers of financial services.
