Phoenix New Media Ltd is incorporated in Cayman Islands. It is a new media company providing premium content on an integrated platform across Internet, mobile and TV channels in China. Having originated from a global Chinese language TV network based in Hong Kong, Phoenix TV, the Company enables consumers to access professional news and other quality information and share user-generated content, or UGC, on the Internet and through their mobile devices. The Company also transmits UGC and in-house produced content to TV viewers primarily through Phoenix TV. It provides journalism with balanced perspectives, global news coverage, investigative reports and in-depth analysis of events in compelling presentation formats. The Company possesses strong capabilities in sourcing and editing content, as well as in original production. Its brand, 'ifeng.com' has achieved prominence among Chinese Internet users. Its mobile channel consists of 3g.ifeng.com mobile website and MIVAS. It offers MIVAS paid services through video channel, which include digital reading services, mobile game services and WVAS. Users can access mobile content and MIVAS directly from their mobile phones: (i) on mobile Internet website, 3g.ifeng.com; (ii) from a mobile operator's platform; (iii) by downloading its applications; or (iv) by opening a pre-installed application on their mobile devices. The Company derives its revenues from Advertising services: It generates net advertising revenues from payments made by advertisers to place advertisements on websites for particular durations of time; and Paid services which includes WVAS: It generates revenues from WVAS by providing content to mobile operators, including China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, who then transmit its content to their mobile phone users through the relevant value-added service technologies, which include short messaging service (SMS), multimedia messaging service (MMS), ring back tone (RBT), interactive voice response (IVR) and wireless application protocol (WAP); Digital Reading Services: It earns revenues from digital reading services by offering mobile newspapers, which are series of periodicals that can be easily viewed and navigated on a mobile phone interface; and Video VAS: It generates the majority of video VAS revenues from mobile subscription and pay-per-view video services by providing short video clips to mobile phone users through China Mobile's video platform.
