Business Description

FedFirst Financial Corporation is a federally chartered holding company established in 1999 to be the holding company for First Federal Savings Bank. Its wholly owned subsidiaries are First Federal Savings Bank and FedFirst Exchange Corporation. FFEC has an 80% controlling interest in Exchange Underwriters, Inc., which is a full-service, independent insurance agency that offers property and casualty, commercial liability, surety and other insurance products. First Federal Savings Bank operates as a community-oriented financial institution offering residential, multi-family and commercial mortgages, consumer loans and commercial business loans as well as a variety of deposit products for individuals and businesses from nine locations in southwestern Pennsylvania. First Federal conducts insurance brokerage activities through Exchange Underwriters, Inc. Its lending activity is the origination of mortgage loans to enable borrowers to purchase or refinance existing homes located in the greater Pittsburgh metropolitan area. It offers fixed and adjustable rate mortgage loans with terms up to 30 years. It offers a variety of fixed and adjustable rate mortgage loans secured by commercial property and multi-family real estate. It originates loans to individuals to finance the construction of residential dwellings. The Company's consumer loans include home equity lines of credit, home equity installment loans, loans on savings accounts, and personal lines of credit and installment loans. Its nine banking offices are located in Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland counties, which is located in the southern suburban area of metropolitan Pittsburgh. The Company faces competition for the attraction of deposits and origination of loans. As a savings and loan holding company, FedFirst Financial is required by federal law to report to, and otherwise comply with the rules and regulations of, the Federal Reserve Board ("FRB"). The Bank, as an insured federal savings association, is subject to extensive regulation, examination and supervision by the OCC, as its primary federal regulator, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation ("FDIC"), as the insurer of its deposits.
