2. Trend of the Operating Margin (5-year average). The company with an uptrend profit margin has a higher rank.
••3. Consistency of the profitability
4. Piotroski F-Score
5. Predictability Rank•

The maximum rank is 10. A rank of 7 or higher means a higher profitability and may stay that way. A rank of 3 or lower indicates that the company has had trouble to make a profit.

Business Description

Fair Isaac Corporation was founded in 1956. The Company provides products and services that enable businesses to automate, improve and connect decisions to enhance business performance. It helps businesses automate, improve and connect decisions across the enterprise, an approach it commonly refers to as Decision Management. The Company has categorized its products and services into the following three operating segments: Applications; Scores; and Tools. Applications segment includes pre-configured Decision Management applications designed for a specific type of business problem or process—such as marketing, account origination, customer management, fraud and insurance claims management—as well as associated professional services. Scores segment includes its business-to-business scoring solutions and services, its myFICO solutions for consumers, and associated professional services. Its scoring solutions give its clients access to analytics that can be easily integrated into their transaction streams and decision-making processes. Its scoring solutions are distributed through major credit reporting agencies, as well as services through which it provides its scores to clients directly. Tools segment is composed of software tools that clients can use to create their own custom Decision Management applications, as well as associated professional services. The Company encounters competition from a number of sources, including: in-house analytic and systems developers; scoring model builders; enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) packaged solutions providers; business intelligence solutions providers; business process management and business rules management providers; providers of credit reports and credit scores; providers of automated application processing services; data vendors; neural network developers and artificial intelligence system builders; third-party professional services and consulting organizations; providers of account/workflow management software; and software companies supplying modeling, rules, or analytic development tools.
