Flowserve Corp develops and manufactures precision-engineered flow control equipment, such as pumps, valves and seals, for critical service applications that require high reliability.

Flowserve Corp was incorporated in the State of New York on May 1, 1912. The Company is a manufacturer and aftermarket service provider of comprehensive flow control systems. It develops and manufactures precision-engineered flow control equipment integral to the movement, control and protection of the flow of materials in its customers' critical processes. Its product portfolio of pumps, valves, seals, automation and aftermarket services supports infrastructure industries, including oil and gas, chemical, power generation (including nuclear, fossil and renewable) and water management, as well as certain general industrial markets where its products and services add value. Through its manufacturing platform and network of Quick Response Centers, it offers an array of aftermarket equipment services, such as installation, diagnostics, repair and retrofitting. It sells its products and services to more than 10,000 companies, including engineering, procurement and construction firms, original equipment manufacturers, distributors and end users. Its products and services are used in several distinct industries having a broad geographic reach. The Company's business segments include Engineered Product Division, Industrial Product Division and Flow Control Division. Through EPD, it design, manufacture, distribute and service custom and other pumps and pump systems, mechanical seals, auxiliary systems, replacement parts and related equipment. EPD products and services are used by companies that operate in the oil and gas, power generation, chemical, water management and general industries. Through IPD it designs, manufactures, distributes and services pre-configured engineered pumps and pump systems, including submersible motors, for industrial markets. FCD designs, manufactures, distributes and services a broad portfolio of industrial valve and automation solutions, including isolation and control valves, actuation, controls and related equipment. In addition, FCD offers energy management products such as steam traps, boiler controls and condensate and energy recovery systems. Its customer mix spans several markets, including the chemical, power generation, oil and gas, water management, pulp and paper, mining and other general industries. The raw materials used in manufacturing its products are readily available and include ferrous and non-ferrous metals in the form of bar stock, machined castings, fasteners, forgings and motors, as well as silicon, carbon faces, gaskets and fluoropolymer components. The Company's competitors include: Sulzer Pumps; Ebara Corp.; SPX Corp.; Eagle Burgmann, which is a joint venture of two traditional seal manufacturers, A. W. Chesterton Co. and AES Corp.; John Crane Inc., a unit of Smiths Group Plc; Weir Group Plc; ITT Industries, KSB Inc. and Sulzer Pumps. The competitors in the valve industry include Pentair Ltd., Cameron International Corp., Emerson Electric Co., General Electric Co. and Crane Co.
