Fly Leasing Ltd was incorporated on May 3, 2007. It is an aircraft lessor. It acquires and lease modern, high-demand and fuel-efficient commercial jet aircraft under long-term contracts to a diverse group of airlines throughout the world. On October 2, 2007, Company completed its initial public offering. Company is managed and serviced by BBAM L.P. or BBAM, an aircraft leasing company with more than 25 years of experience in aircraft leasing. BBAM acts as manager of the Company and servicer of the aircraft portfolio under multi-year management and servicing agreements. In addition to arranging for the leasing of the fleet, BBAM assists in the acquiring and disposing of aircraft, marketeering aircraft for lease and release, collecting rents and other payments from the lessees of aircraft, monitoring maintenance, insurance and other obligations under leases, and enforcing its rights against lessees. As of December 31, 2013, its aircraft portfolio consisted of 113 commercial jet aircraft. Its aircraft portfolio comprised of 105 narrow-body passenger aircraft including two freighters and eight wide-body passenger aircraft. As of December 31, 2013, Company had 63 Boeing aircraft and 50 Airbus aircraft in its fleet. The air transportation industry is very regulated. As it does not operate aircraft, it generally is not directly subject to these laws. However, its lessees are subject to extensive regulation under the laws of the jurisdiction in which they are registered or under which it operates.
