Golar LNG Ltd was originally founded in 1946 as Gotaas-Larsen Shipping Corporation. is a midstream LNG company engaged primarily in the transportation, regasification and liquefaction and trading of LNG. The Company is engaged in the acquisition, ownership, operation and chartering of LNG carriers and FSRUs through its subsidiaries and affiliates and the development of LNG projects. The Company's fleet is comprised of twelve LNG carriers and five FSRUs. It competes with other independent shipping companies who also own and operate LNG carriers. with the following customers: BG Group, Gdf Suez, ENi SpA and a Japanese trading company.
