Gap Inc was incorporated in the State of California in July 1969 and was reincorporated under the laws of the State of Delaware in May 1988. The Company is an apparel retail company. It offers apparel, accessories, and personal care products for men, women, and children under the Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Piperlime, Athleta, and Intermix brands. The Company operates in the specialty, outlet, online, and franchise channels. The Company has grown its franchise store base to 429 stores. Its trademarks are Gap, GapKids, babyGap, GapBody, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Piperlime, Athleta, and Intermix trademarks and service marks, and certain other trademarks. Its products are also available to customers online through Company-owned websites and through the use of third parties that provide logistics and fulfillment services. The Company operates in two segments namely Stores and Direct. The Stores reportable segment includes retail stores for Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic. The Direct reportable segment includes online brands, as well as Piperlime, Athleta, and Intermix. The Company competes with local, national, and apparel retailers.
